Dylan was one of the lucky ones: A dog with cystinuria who never formed stones. Two of his littermates, Fraser and Skye, were severely affected, formed stones, and blocked. Dylan was discovered to have cystinuria on his third screening test; previous tests showed no cystine in the urine.

We include his story just to illustrate that not all dogs with cystinuria form stones.
